Before any shooting can begin your instructor will describe and demonstrate the key safety elements of Air Rifle Target Shooting on a range;
Range Procedures
How to conduct yourselves safely & responsibly when on the range.
Range Commands
A clear set of verbal commands telling shooters what to do and when, so everybody knows what's happening.
Rifle Safety
How to handle the Air Rifle safely and confidently.
All of the safety instructions are designed around simple common sense, but if there is anything you are unsure of please speak to your instructor.

On The Range

Progressive learning
Each technique is designed to build on those previously learned, so by the end of the day you will have completed all of the principles necessary to achieve competent marksmanship. Each lesson and practice session run for approximately 45 mins.
Optional Competition - at the end of the day
When all the lessons are completed we end the day with a friendly target competition which is completely optional, join in or concentrate on your own shooting, it's up to you.
Parachute HQ
As soon as you arrive an instructor will meet you and take you to the Parachute HQ for refreshments and to meet your fellow trainee sharpshooters.
Arrive at the woodland entrance for 9am and depart around 5pm.
Please arrive 15 minutes at 8.45am. Thanks.
Please do not be late because if you miss the safety briefings you will not be allowed to shoot.
On arrival you will be directed through the woodlands to secure parking.
Safety Briefings
Once everyone has arrived the first safety briefings, paperwork and site description will take place, followed by a short introduction to the sport of Air Rifle Target shooting and how the day ahead is planned.
Then its off to the Shooting Range for the Rifle & Range Safety briefings.
Now you're ready to start shooting.
Self Catering
Please bring your lunch and any snacks and drinks you may want during the day.
Refreshments
Tea, coffee, water will be available throughout the day for you.
Outdoor Toilets
Be brave - we have a number of composting toilets on the site. It is possible
If You Own an Air Rifle
It is possible to bring your own air rifle, but your instructor will need to spend time making sure it's safe to use and is rated for sub 12ft.lb. legal limit.
Please arrange with us in advance of your visit if you wish to bring your own air rifle.
You may need to arrive one hour early or visit for a safety check in advance of your booking.
